As you may have noticed in the Canon Roles, you have seen several instances of Major X and Minor X blood. You might have been wondering what exactly that is. Well, technically, this system finds itself in Fire Emblem 4: Genealogy of the Holy War. In that, there were twelve crusaders with holy bloodlines, with Loptyr making it thirteen. Here, the rule is generally the same; there are seven divine bloodlines based on the seven gods, and only those that have Major blood can wield the weapons alloted to them.
Hylia - The Hero's Bow
Naga - Falchion
Zayd - The Master Sword
Ashera - Ragnell
Yune - Sol Katti
Demise - The Trident
Grima - Grima's Truth
However, despite this there are other things that come with a bloodline. Bloodlines have abilities called bloodline abilities. As a character of a certain bloodline increases the amount of hearts, they will receive a new ability at certain intervals. A Major bloodline will receive (the third character is y) a new ability at 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20 hearts. A Minor bloodline goes by the same pattern, but will only receive abilities up to 12 hearts. However, despite being named minor, a Minor Majora is treated as a Major.
While the amount of potential Majors will never change. Any relations to a Major (barring Hylia's Reincarnation) will be listed as a minor. But there are also hybrids. While technically, you can't actually make a character with a hybrid bloodline, in theory if two characters with different bloodlines were to have a kid, the baby would be a dual-minor.
I think that's about it.[/font][/ul][/div][/blockquote]
