The clouds under Skyloft roiled thick and thrashing. In the distance, a cumulonimbus loomed like a mountain. It was a storm, and Keeya liked to sit on the edge of Skyloft and watch storms pass by. She could almost imagine the clouds were their own landscape. She'd packed dinner, and was having herself a little picnic as she watched the mountainous cloud pass. Lightning flashed in the cloud, lighting the evening sky for miles around. She had doffed her coat, stripping down to her undershirt.
The storm front came, and Keeya sighed pleasurably as the warm air brushed her skin. She couldn't remember her homeland, but Skyloft was always just slightly too cold, even after all the years she'd lived there. Storms were one of the few times the temperature actually approached something comfortable. She lay back, idly chewing on a loaf of bread. She was content.

this is everything i wanted tonight. Of course the skies would open the minutes Gwen decided to go out for some flying exercises. And of course it would pour when she hadn't thought to dress appropriately for damp weather; she was wearing more than one article made of leather, which the rain would positively destroy. So when the skies darkened and she felt the first heavy drops of water hit her skin, Gwen had Charlotte pull the sharpest, cleanest U-turn they'd ever performed, and they flew back to the stables at a breakneck speed that would make professional racers green with envy.
Unfortunately, their haste probably got them even more soaked than if they'd just flown back at a normal pace; it had started pouring before they could make it out of the storm, and Gwen was dripping from head to toe. She patted Charlotte dry with one of the big blankets kept in storage for the Loftwings for cold weather, carefully took off her corset and boots, wiped them down, and finally toweled herself off. She was a horrendous sight, she was sure; the curls of her twin tails had drooped, and were now pathetically limp. After a minute or so of trying to fix them, she conceded defeat, and let her hair down completely. Her shirt and skirt were plastered to her skin, but there wasn't much she could do about that. She'd have to go home and change. Boots in one hand and corset carefully draped over her other arm, Gwen set out for home.
Skyloft proper was not suffering any rain at the moment, but it was unpleasantly humid, and the storm loomed too close for comfort. Most of its citizens has already retreated inside - except for one familiar lanky figure. Curious, she drew closer - and sure enough, Keeya Satori was outside having a picnic, of all things. Though she was loathe to speak to anyone while in such a disheveled state, Gwen couldn't in good conscience pass Keeya by without giving her some kind of warning. The storm was nasty, after all.
"Miss Satori," she called, making her way over to her fellow squire, "that storm is moving quickly. It would probably be best if you moved inside." | TAGGED: Keeya Satori

Keeya had a very impassive face. She was slow to show emotion, and she never showed much of it. This was likely the only thing that kept her from choking to death as she looked up from her rest and beheld Guinevere Martell, wet and wearing white.
She froze. She could see the curves of Guinevere's body where the shirt clung to her skin. The slope of her legs, toned by years of training and riding, were firm silhouettes under the clinging skirt. Her skin was damp, and she glistened in the stormlight.
Keeya remembered to breathe. She had been staring, she realized. Or, well, watching impassively. The most her utter shock had registered was a slight widening of the eyes. She quickly swallowed the bread she'd been chewing on, and tried to say something, averting her eyes from Gwen's form. Mostly all she managed to do was sort of wave at the picnic basket and then out to the storm, which glowed with an inner light. "Stormwatching," she finally managed. She was stormwatching. And blushing. Was she blushing? She was totally blushing. Could Guinevere see?
Covering her embarrassment and cursing her awkwardness, Keeya sat up and turned her eyes back towards the storm. Her attention, on the other hand, was focused entirely on Gwen.

this is everything i wanted tonight. Did... she say something wrong? Keeya had heard her, that much was obvious, given that the girl was looking right at her, but that was all she was doing. That was it. Just looking. She wasn't really chatty to begin with, at least not that Gwen had noticed, but generally people responded when you spoke directly to them and they acknowledged your existence.
Keeya was probably shocked and dismayed at the sight of Gwen's thoroughly abhorrent appearance. She was just so messy. She should've gone straight home to change rather than subject this poor girl to such a horrible sight. A faint blush of shame rose on Gwen's cheeks, and she thought about turning and leaving, but Keeya finally spoke up and that was it, she was locked in. To leave now, so abruptly, would be unconscionable. Even if she excused herself as politely as possible, it would be terribly rude, and then Keeya would think she was not just a slovenly pig of a girl, but a rude slovenly pig of a girl, and Gwen was desperate to redeem herself in this horrible situation.
And the storm was still fast approaching. Awkward social situations aside, it was unpleasant at best to be outside in the middle of a storm on Skyloft. At worst, it was downright dangerous. Goddesses only knew what Keeya was doing stormwatching.
"It is... very pretty, I suppose," Gwen said doubtfully, moving to stand beside Keeya. "But surely it is not worth risking the danger. It will be very unsafe out here in just a short while. Could you not watch the storm from inside? I am sure there are several buildings around with a good vantage point and security from dying a painful death due to improper storm safety precautions." | TAGGED: Keeya Satori

Pretty girls are devastating, Keeya reflected. She tried to keep her eyes on the storm, and failed. The brief glances she caught of her fellow squire standing next to her scrambled her thoughts and tied her tongue into knots. She was just so pretty and wet and somehow all she could do was sit there like an asshole. Should she be talking? They weren't even on a first-name basis. What would she even say?
"No."
She could have punched herself in the goddamn face. She took tore a chunk out of the bread with her teeth to cover up the way she grimaced at her own silence. Her heart was racing, her stomach was doing somersaults, and Guinevere was right there just being gorgeous like she wasn't the most important thing in the world right then. She cast about for something to say, or do. Eventually she reached into the basket at her side and grabbed what turned out to be the steaming hot pumpkin soup she'd packed. It burned her fingers. Keeya lifted it out, and thrust it in Guinevere's direction.
The wind was picking up, and brought a cold drizzle along with it. Thunder. Flash. The storm would be there soon.

this is everything i wanted tonight. Well. That was abrupt. Not that Gwen really should have expected anything else; it wasn't like Keeya was going to magically open up and start chattering at a mile a minute just because Gwen warned her about a storm. Still, it wouldn't kill the girl to be more polite when someone was trying to keep her from dying a gruesome death. Something like no, I am quite alright or even a simple I'm fine, thank you would be better than just - no. Guinevere huffed internally, but she refrained from making her complaints aloud. That would be rude, and Gwen was determined to lead by example.
She was also inclined to leave and store her leathers before the rain caught up to her, and prepared to say a nice, polite goodbye, but Keeya quite abruptly thrust a steaming container of what smelled like soup in her direction, and again she was trapped. And the soup smelled really good. It was hardly the weather for it, in Gwen's opinion, but she could never turn down pumpkin soup. She placed her boots on the group and carefully took the soup from Keeya with a quiet thank you. She felt the soft beginnings of a drizzle and inwardly sighed. So much for protecting the leather.
She put the soup on the ground to free her hands, draped the corset over her boots, and sat next to Keeya; carefully she worked her thigh-high socks off, wrung them out as best she could, and wrapped the corset in the fabric before placing the neat bundle inside one of her boots. That would be enough, she told herself, and she almost believed it. She took the soup in hand again; it was too hot to eat, so she used a tiny wind spell to cool it off. She drank.
"If you get struck by lightning I will drag you to safety and lecture you for three hours," Gwen declared after a time. "I expect you shall do the same, sans the lecture. I hardly need it." | TAGGED: Keeya Satori

Guinevere sat down next to Keeya, and at that moment Keeya would have done whatever Guinevere wanted her to. Pumpkin soup? Fuck, Keeya would have given her the moon. Someone could have lit Keeya on fire and she wouldn't even notice, except maybe how good Guinevere looked in the firelight, she was so absolutely focused on the girl sitting next to her.
And then Guinevere started taking off her thigh-highs.
Keeya let out a small, almost inaudible whine as she slumped forward, hiding her face in her hands. Being struck by lightning didn't sound so bad. Or maybe the wind would pick up and throw Keeya off the edge. She had to focus just to breathe, and her heart skipped a beat every time Keeya caught a glimpse of Guinevere through her fingers. She was just so gorgeous.

this is everything i wanted tonight. The rain began to pebble down harder, meaning Gwen would get absolutely drenched again - not that she had dried off at all in the first place, but the point stood. She didn't like getting wet. Wet was not cute. Still, despite the oppressive humidity, Gwen had to admit that the approaching storm did carry a certain degree of beauty. She hadn't expected that kind of sensitivity from Keeya, honestly; though they hadn't spoken much, because the Gerudo was so stoic and so very into weaponry, Gwen though that Keeya came from the same brutal, indelicate school of let's just hit things willy nilly and see what happens as that dreadful Aspen Lucard. That, obviously, was not entirely the case.
Gwen looked over to Keeya to tell her such, only to find the girl curled up and hiding her face in her hands. Alarmed by her sudden and complete change of demeanor, Gwen transferred her soup to one hand and laid the other on Keeya's shoulder. "Miss Satori, are you all right?" she asked, voice filled with concern. She tilted her head to try to get a glimpse of Keeya's face. Was she ill? Maybe she had eaten too much too quickly. She had been tearing into that bread fairly viciously. "If you're feeling sick, I can help you back to the dorms. Maybe you should lie down for a while?" | TAGGED: Keeya Satori

'Oh no, she's hot. Oh no. Oh no.' Keeya couldn't handle it. This was ridiculous. She was a knight in training! She could take any of the other squires bare-handed! She weathered storms for fun! She would not be defeated by sitting next to a pretty girl!
Keeya flinched when Gwen touched her, jerking away from her hand. The sudden movement threw her off balance, and for a long moment it looked like Keeya would fall off the edge. She and her loftwing, which was circling below, both tensed in alarm, and it was only sheer physical discipline that meant Keeya reacted in time to shift her balance back to solid ground rather than jerking further off balance.
For a moment, Keeya was all focus. Her awkwardness forgotten, and her eyes hard and piercing gold until her her body realized she wasn't about to die. Then Keeya realized that she was gripping Guinevere's arm tightly, having instinctively grabbed it to pull herself back. She snatched her hand away, ashamed. "Sorry. I'm fine."
Her hands were empty. The loaf of bread was gone, probably dropped over the side. Great. What would she do with her hands now? Tag: @gwen

this is everything i wanted tonight. Gwen jerked back immediately when Keeya flinched away, not wanting to invade her personal space was she was so obviously opposed to it, but just as quickly she was reaching out again, hoping to catch Keeya before she teetered over the edge. Her Loftwing would undoubtedly catch her if she fell, but it was usually best to avoid falling in general, especially during a storm. As bad as walking around in this kind of weather was, flying in it was even worse. Gwen supposed she should be glad that Keeya wasn't flying in it.
She reached out her hand with the intent of grabbing Keeya's arm to pull her back, but Keeya ended up latching on to her instead. Her fingers wrapped around Gwen's arm with a grip like iron and almost made Gwen topple over as well; as it was, a bit of the soup splashed to the ground, but Gwen managed to keep her balance. A long moment passed, and if Gwen felt steady, then Keeya surely did too, but the other girl was frozen in place. Gwen didn't dare pull away lest she startle Keeya again and really send her careening over the edge, but she came back to herself just a moment later. Her fingers left bright red marks on Gwen's pale arm, but those would fade in minute or so.
"If you are sure," Gwen said doubtfully, scooting back a foot or so before resuming her seated position. "Being so close to the edge is a little unnerving. Perhaps you should move back?" She took another sip of the soup, paused, then held it out as potential bribe. "This soup is very good. We should share it." | TAGGED: Keeya Satori

Guinevere walked away, and Keeya was devastated. She'd fucked up. She'd fucked up bad and now Guinevere was hurt and Keeya would never forgive herself. She wanted to apologize. She wanted to throw herself at Guinevere's feet and beg her forgiveness. Just sitting there next to Guinevere had been the nicest she'd felt all week. The warmth of the storm front was chilly compared to the heat of being near her.
It took Keeya a moment to realize that she was staring again. Those legs. That figure. Just watching her move, glistening wet and beautiful, was like being kicked in the stomach. Keeya spared a thought to thank all of the gods and all of the spirits for girls like Guinevere Martell.
She followed unthinkingly, scrambling to her feet and going after the girl, feeling clumsy and brutish in comparison to Guinevere's elegance. She looked down at the soup for a long moment, too stunned to think. Guinevere was offering her food. She was about to share a meal with the prettiest girl in Skyloft.
Almost as importantly, that soup was all that was left of Keeya's dinner.
She sat down next to Guinevere and hesitantly took her own bottle from Guinevere's hand. Their fingers touched, just for a moment, and Keeya's breath caught in her throat. The warm soup helped banish the chill that had settled in her skin. She'd been so focused on Guinevere that she hadn't even noticed the rain steadily picking up, and she was quickly growing as soaked as her companion. Her lone undershirt was quickly defeated, clinging wetly to Keeya's defined midriff. At least she wasn't wearing white, she thought, very firmly not stealing every glance she could from the corner of her eye as she looked up at the roiling storm. Nope, that was definitely not what she was doing at all. Tag: @gwen

this is everything i wanted tonight. Gwen just smiled as Keeya followed, and she positively shone when she took the soup. Victory. Now Keeya wouldn't fall off the edge of Skyloft and die. Though that was always a risk, honestly. At least there was a smaller chance of it, now.
The rain pelted down even harder, and Guinevere stared forlornly at her poor wet boots. She looked to Keeya, who was also getting soaked, and who also apparently didn't mind at all; she was just staring at the storm above, apparently completely enraptured. The wind picked up, alleviating the humidity a little. It also made the rain hit harder. A drop of water seemed to shoot straight for her eye, and Gwen had to spend a good ten seconds rubbing at her face to made the terrible stinging go away. This storm was seriously out to get her. And make her look as unattractive as physically possible.
"We should go inside soon," Gwen said, still rubbing at her eye with a finger. She looked over at her boots, and prayed that the leather wasn't too damaged. "My shoes might die if I leave them out in the rain any longer. Do you want me to grab your things as well?" It wasn't really a question, honestly. She had her mind set on a goal and was already moving to rescue her boots. Regardless of what Keeya said, she'd grab her coat and basket as well. | TAGGED: Keeya Satori

The rain was freezing on Keeya's skin, and she welcomed it. Just being around Guinevere was making her feel hot, but the stinging cold kept her from being overwhelmed. She startled when Guinevere did, and dared a concerned glance. Just a stray raindrop. Still, Keeya didn't relax. She wanted to ask if she was okay, or offer to help in some way, but she was terrified that she'd say or do something wrong.
She was still fretting over whether she should say something when Guinevere moved to gather their things. It took Keeya a moment to start moving, going from worrying over what to say, to being transfixed by Guinevere's hips, to springing to her feet and striding over to retrieve her things.
Except her things weren't there anymore. There were Guinevere's boots, and there was the spot she'd been sitting, and there wasn't her coat. She'd had that coat forever. It was comfortable, and warm, and now it was gone. Keeya crossed her arms, frowning at the blank spot. "Well, shit." Tag @gwen

this is everything i wanted tonight. Her sock wrapping idea had kept her corset somewhat protected, at least, but her boots were probably going to stain if she didn't treat the leather pronto. If she got home quickly enough, maybe she could prevent any staining at all - she could avoid getting a new pair of boots, anyway, especially if she polished them well enough afterward.
"Language," Gwen chided automatically when she heard Keeya's swear - it was instinct, honestly, she hadn't really been paying attention - then she turned to see what Keeya was swearing about. It took her a moment to notice. Her coat and basket weren't on the ground, and they weren't in her hands.
"Oh," she said. She frowned. "I am sorry. Do you... have another coat?" The weather would be getting cooler soon, and quickly; it wouldn't do if Keeya was left without a coat. | TAGGED: Keeya Satori

Keeya was surprised to hear Guinevere chiding her for language. It took her a moment to realize her error, and then she blushed, her dark skin turning just a shade darker with embarrassment. She shut up, and tried to focus on the task at hand.
"No," she said, shaking her head sadly. She had some extra clothes. Nothing like Guinevere's seemingly infinite wardrobe, though. The closest she had to an actual outfit was her squire's uniform. No coat, though. It was going to get real cold before she could get another one. Tag: @gwen OOC: Short, sorry. Phoneposting is new to me.

this is everything i wanted tonight. One coat, and that gone. A travesty, in Gwen's opinion; she shuddered to think what she would do without her endless selections. She even had entire stocks of clothing not in her size; she either grew out of old clothing, or kept larger articles for friends to borrow or in the vain hope that she would shoot up another few inches during her teenage years. That had yet to happen, however, and all that extra clothing had only been gathering dust. Until now. Guinevere smiled.
"I have a few coats you could use," she said already mentally sifting through her massive inventory. Most of what she owned was some variation of frilly or dressy, neither of which seemed to be Keeya's style, but everyone had room for a style revamp in their lives. At Guinevere's offer, Keeya turned on the other girl and stared at her, a tangle of emotions building in her chest. Anxiety ruled, telling her to decline, and bear the cold. It was quickly drowned out by a mess of other feelings telling her 'yes go with the pretty girl dressing means undressing follow the girl girls girls girls'.
"Okay," she said eventually. She was going to see Guinevere's home and, possibly, wear Guinevere's clothes. The thought was almost as flustering as watching Guinivere removing her thigh-highs. Thankfully, Keeya remembered basic courtesy in time to add a quiet "Thank you."

this is everything i wanted tonight. Again Keeya just stared at her. It was a little unnerving, truth be told. Her face was so impassive, it was impossible to tell what was going on in her head, and without any vocal support Gwen was completely at a loss. So she just stared back, waiting for Keeya to come to her words on her own, getting progressively more drenched every second.
Eventually Keeya consented to her proposal, and Gwen grinned and gestured in the direction of her home. She was tempted to grab the girl's hand and drag her there, but considering how she had reacted to her touch before, Gwen thought that was probably not the best idea. Though when she followed up with that soft thank you, she almost cried out of sheer pride. Leading by example obviously was the way to go, if Keeya was now using basic manners. Polite was (almost) always the way to go.
"You're welcome," she said cheerily, and set off for home, expecting that Keeya would follow. | TAGGED: Keeya Satori
