ARIADNE FANEL
HYLIAN sixteen female AIR june 1st | BISEXUAL everyone GUARD PEGASUS CAP'N NEUTRAL |
details
- Personality: A good, long stint in the guard has not weathered Ariadne’s natural optimism down to its more sarcastic bones. She operates under a code of shy rationality for as long as she can, relying on manners that are somewhat awkward but nevertheless truthful in their sincerity. She is hardly recklessly outgoing preferring to internalize but she can be bright and unafraid when she wants to be, and she sometimes ignores protocol in favor of getting to know the people around her; honestly, it is rare to see her exerting her power over others, as she usually depends on a mix of politeness and irrepressible generosity to relate to people instead.
- Still, there are emotions curled up tight in her; when pushed to her limits, she becomes earnest and bright, unafraid of conflict and quick to react. Those who know her buttons can press them easily enough, though she’s hopefully made a good enough impression that they’ll be courteous and refrain from doing so. She’s been a follower for most of her life, content to trundle quietly along in the background, and that’s led to an automatic aim to please the people around her.
- Appearance: There was a time when she was identifiable by the inexperience in her wake; thankfully, Ariadne has learned by now to keep her magic in check, and one can concentrate more easily on her actual looks.
- She's got the build of a victim - featherlight almost fragile in make, sapphire eyes, and hands as soft as her mother's. Her hair is a veritable trail of gold itself, as it hangs in a silky mess of blonde to her jaw; she usually keeps it tame and well kept. Her uniform, with its dark fabrics and sensible cut, has a far lesser impact, especially now that she has traded her decorated Ylisse coat for a less burdensome airy jacket. Off duty, light earrings, trinkets, floral prints and strapless, billowy dresses move over her silhouette like rainwater.
- Years of travel have given her a certain professional sharpness and eloquence to her movements; and, despite her calm, there always seems to be a tangible shroud of warmth around her. At the very least, she's converted the timid cowardice of her more youthful years into a warmer and more welcoming aura.
- Under her worn leather gloves she wears two rings, both on her right fourth finger.

history
- Homeland: Ylisse
- History: When Ariadne was a child, the biggest continent in the world was her family's estate. Sprawling levels, vast and fragrant gardens, balconies that jutted out into sunrise, sunset. It was uncharted territory, filled with strange beasts, like the Pegasi, her patriotic and distant father, her mother with her strange cooking smells, and her brother whom Aria liked to follow around and ask questions. One time, her father left for a few weeks on an search, mounted his pegasus and flew away with a few sentinels. He came back tired and gaunt. Aria, four and brave and sad, asked, "Why did you leave me?" He answered, "When you're older, baby."
- From birth until well into her fifteenth year, the borders of her world settled and solidified, galvanized, and everything in her blood pulsed and rushed and spoke for one purpose only, and that was to follow her father and father before that into serving Ylisse, but more than that she seemed more alive when aloft a pegasus than anywhere else. It was home and world and life, at last, at last, and Aria guarded those borders until the day her father disappeared.
- He made her an entity all to herself; lavished her at his expense and trained her, made her the most beautiful thing between their vast, lonely worlds - instilled the discipline of requisite training, flying, and strategy. Their worlds shrank to the size of her tiny room at first and as she grew their time together swelled and filled up like a thousand lifetimes. Her world, sudden and strange, was the entire kingdom and all the responsibility and eloquence and command that came along with it.
- And, after training and some time earning her keep she was permitted command of new Pegasi and new riders, eventually manifesting into a presence others in the guard grew quite comfortable with and coincidentally the person to flex her fingers when troubles surfaced. When Ariadne was sixteen years old she overtook her father's shaken position as newly appointed captain of the Pegasus guard - full of youth and purpose she endeavors to build up what her father lost.
