After a lot of time and even more effort, Amala managed to track down and wrestle with a wyvern. Why? Because she wanted to. Because she could. Because why not. During her ferocious wrassle with the creature, however, she discovered that wyverns were actually quite snuggable - not like a soft, fluffy, perfect cat, obviously, but in their own uniquely scaly, spiky way, wyverns were just as worthy of hugs and kisses and endless piles of love.
And unless it was very, very large, Amala wouldn't be able to ride a cat into battle. She was already having dreams of burning, screaming enemies. She could stock up on javelins and cackle as she rained pointy sticks and fire on her foes from above. It would be beautiful.
Her mind made up, Amala spent about two whole weeks with her new exhausted wyvern friend, hunting prey for the tenacious beastie and very, very carefully feeding and tending to him. She suffered countless scratches and burns for her efforts, but after exuding enough charm and loving pets, the wyvern - now dubbed Garrus - grew begrudgingly fond of her. She managed to bring him back close to civilization, and dropped an absurd amount of rupees on supplies for caring for him - and riding him. She bought him a saddle and everything, but he hated it, and he chewed it off after about five minutes of wearing it. So Amala invested in a small, thick pad to protect herself from Garrus' spikes and scales, and found that that setup worked much better. He responded to her directions better when she spoke to him, anyway, and she was confident that with enough training and practice they would move completely in sync.
But that would come later. For now, he'd probably be a disobedient little shit, but Amala knew what she was getting into. Kinda.-700 rupees
