雪 に 覆 わ れ た 森 Enter through the back--that was explained by their employer, no room for interpretation. For whatever reason, this man wasn't going to be caught with any cats in his household, and he was very adamant about it. How they got in, that was a problem which was already taken care of. Now all they had to do was find every cat and toss them outside.
Stepping inside, Valerie could see the well-sculpted interior and, unfortunately, the result of one felines' defecation. In order to avoid claws and teeth, Valerie brought along an attire of thick cloth. Not nearly as bulky as the garments of wolfos pelt that protected from the snowy lands she was used to, but enough to protect her skin from a hideaway of stray cats.
Already, the eyes of cats were upon her, all ready to run at the first sight of danger. Or, in this case, the gloved hands of a Valjean.CAT STATUS These Cats are quick! Cats: 16 Remain!

time passes time passes time passes. Enter through the back. Simple, direct instructions, if bemusing. The point was to be discreet, Val wagered, though if she were being perfectly honest she would have to admit that even going through the back was not exactly stealthy when you were a large, blue-skinned dragon merchant. Such was life. She wouldn't concern herself about it, not when she was already so pleased that she had managed to adequately time her arrival to match up with that of her small young partner. When the girl appeared at the back door Val had only been waiting six hours: a margin of error that was by all accounts so negligible it could hardly be counted at all.
The girl entered and Val followed. The door was left open, so that perhaps the cats would flee themselves, and the cat removal team would have an opening to remove the cats by. She was not dressed quite so thickly as her companion; Val's hide would likely protect her from any potential scratches, and if it did not, they were cat scratches. She had temporarily left behind her cloak, however, as she did not wish for it to be tattered by irritated felines. Briefly she had considered wearing gloves, if only to protect the cats from her rough palms and talons, but she owned no gloves and there were none she could buy off the street that would fit over her claws. She would just have to be careful.
Val loomed over the girl's shoulder. Five cats hissed, three fled, and one engaged the merchant in a staring contest. Val would not lose. | TAGGED: @superspooks

雪 に 覆 わ れ た 森 Cats! Six cats were already upon them, and only one of them weren't trying to intimidate. Valerie didn't have her partner's approach in her mind--more specifically, staring cats down--rather she looked between the five cats and picked one out. An orange tabby, and the rightmost.
One of the cats were far too focused on a certain someone to pay mind to Valerie. The other five, however, slowly backed away from Valerie, bearing teeth and arching backs. Valerie crouched down and slowly stuck out her hand.
As expected, the orange tabby lashed out at her. Her other hand seized the cat, while the other four escaped into the rest of the house. Valerie held the cat up by it's scruff. She looked towards the open door.
"I think we should keep the door shut. Otherwise, I'm going to have to throw them pretty hard."
Both options felt equal to her, so long as it was a compromise. Under some circumstances, she might have been just as willing to stuff them all in a bag, but she didn't have a large enough bag! That's also really messed up. Who would do that?CAT STATUS These Cats are quick! Cats: 16 Remain!

time passes time passes time passes. Val was dimly aware of her partner taking action, but she was much too focused on the cat before her to pay any mind. For what felt like an eternity dragon and feline stared, slowly creeping closer and closer to each other; the cat inched closer, lifted one paw off the floor, carefully, and Val crouched closer to the floor, carefully - the human girl spoke and Val heard but did not acknowledge, just hovered on the balls of her clawed feet with her knees not more than a foot off the ground.
Dragon and feline stared and dragon snatched, long talons of one hand wrapping around the feline's belly and long talons of the other wrapping around its back, and Val held the cat close to her chest, creating an odd and likely uncomfortable cage of sorts that the cat simply could not squirm out of. Her partner's technique seemed much more effective, Val noted as she stood up straight and turned to her, but that was not an option for her. Her claws would get in the way and the cat would just get away.
Silently Val went to the door of the house, tossing the cat outside as gently as possible - it seemed alright, as it landed on its feet and looked only vaguely affronted - and quickly shutting the door behind it. Her original thought would not work, as her companion pointed out, so she just gazed at the girl for a long moment before wandering off in search of other cats. | TAGGED: @superspooks

雪 に 覆 わ れ た 森 She was looking at her now. Valerie could only imagine what went about Val's conscience. Regardless, she held the belief that she would work just as Valerie did. However, opening the door so soon would invite the other cat back in, since it was placed directly outside. She paused for a second while the stray cat flailed.
Valerie stepped to the window just to the right. She slid the window up and leaned out . The cat began to writhe with noise, just as she brought him through the threshold of the window. He grasped at the window frame, but he was fruitless. She grasped just below the cat's scruff with her other hand and, with a hard swing, sent the cat soaring down the alleyway. After that, she leaned back in and shut the window.
Given the house interior's enclosed, slightly cramped nature, she assumed that she'd be able to corner most of the strays. Since they had very limited space the run through, it should just just boil down to how quick she was. Valerie passed through the main room and into a connected hallway. Most of the doors were already shut, save for the room on the end and the one just to the left of it. Given the amount of cats she had seen, a handful of them should be in either room. She made her way down the hall and into the farthest room, which happened to be a bedroom.
Several strays occupied the bedroom, and all of them tried to distance their selves from Valerie as much as they could.CAT STATUS These Cats are quick! Cats: 14 Remain!

time passes time passes time passes. Valerie went into a bedroom while Val split off and found herself in the kitchen. No cats in sight. One cabinet door was slightly ajar, however, so she took a peek inside - but nothing. She opened all the other cabinet doors, and still nothing. Just a collection of pots and pans, some dust, and a rat trap. Carefully she removed the trap, placing it on the kitchen counter, and looked into the upper cabinets - still no cats. No cats in the sink and no cats on the counter. Val almost turned to leave, but then she smiled.
She opened the bottom cabinet containing the pots and pans and reached into the largest stew pot, and immediately withdrew a hissing, writhing little cat doing its best to escape and scratch the hell out of the dragon in the process. Another cat scrambled out of the pot, knocking it over, and shot off out of the kitchen and into the hall. Figuring she might not be able to contain her prisoner until she reached the front door, Val instead opted to open the window behind the sink, and threw the cat out much less gently than she had the first before firmly shutting it.
Venturing into the hall once more, she scanned the area for strays, and finding none, ventured into a bathroom. She shut the door behind her as a precaution; no cats would escape while she was capturing. Maybe not the best thought-out plan, but a plan nonetheless. | TAGGED: @superspooks
