"Oh, I see! Well let me be the first to thank you on the behalf of Southtown for taking this job. As you are aware these ruffians have been nothing but trouble since their arrival, they obey no authority and have threatened many of people with violence. Usually we'd hold out until the merc's pass through but the people urged me to chance a job posting."
As they Mayor addressed the two strangers, Chike took a glance at her fellow quest seeker. He seemed older, but that might just be because of his scars and stature. The man was definitely a fighter, which considering the nature of their current job was a good thing.
"Well, you'll find them just south of town. They've taken hold of the old Gorman farm not to far from here, but--" Before he could continue a young boy burst through the door, his face one of urgency, "Mayor they're at it again! Those meanies are trying to beat up Mr. Larry and take his stock!!" The mayor frowned, "Well it looks like they came to you then. Mr. Larry runs the local pub. If they're trying to take his stock it must be at his place, fresh barrels of beer are due today."
Chike had heard enough, gripping her favorite tome she spoke with no small amount of confidence,"Just have the money ready, these simpletons won't be much of a problem." Looking over to the man, whose name she did not catch, "You ready to make some money?" She didn't wait for his answer as she was already out the door.

Saigu himself was fairly content to standing and listening as he considered what the mayor spoke in some details. Such an idea of treating Cassadane to the bodies of such low moraled lives did give him a certain amusement, perhaps to get some good practice of his arm while he would save his mind's exercises for after. He wondered if perhaps he might find some loot he might like! As the boy came in and the report gave a reaction of a raised eyebrow, he gave a half smile. "I'm sure that we will sweep this problem away quite nicely. Should you wish them taken alive?" Saigu blinked as Chike then asked him a question only to disperse back outside-his feet turning after he received his answer and moved quickly to keep up. No need if this woman was good that she might take the problem all herself and he not able to claim anything!

"No-NO need to kill them~!!"
The mayors fleeting words made their way into her ears despite the upbeat pace she was setting. She was Chike, a noble Beorc so perfect that a god, a literally GOD was supposed to inhabit her body....well allegedly anyway. She had no small amount of confidence, so sure that her powers would leave these cretins bowing before her. The plan was simple, show up, declare her greatness, shoot some magic and boom get paid. Easy, right?
The footsteps brought her back to reality, her 'partner' was not far behind, and startling enough he was gaining fast. 'Right, fighter.'
"Hey you could just sit back and marvel at my power, alright? I bet they won't even be much of a challenge." Indeed her arrogance was on full display, but with her upbringing who could blame her?

At this particular point the fight looked to get started once it did by this girl's rather outspoken nature once they arrived. And for that he might as well make the most of it. His pace was a steady if quick one, blade not yet drawn but resting the hand and a half sword on his back with his baldric. "If one was wishing to make sure I do not rust in skill, I would like at least one or two." The note in his voice kept with a light quickening of breath and his muscles shifted to better support with that ever swing of momentum and agility. Truthfully he would have wished to make use of one of the horses used at the Tournament, but they were supplied for that only.
The mayor did say there was not a need, so perhaps taking them alive might prove a higher service or at the least just less mess for the mayor to clean up. It would be however once they got there that he would indeed let her take the front door, while he went for a side or back door. If she was as skilled as she felt, perhaps she could take that many on through a doorway and have him pounce from behind.

Chike had no response as the closed the distance to the pub. If the fighter wanted to take on the bulk of them when the time came she'd probably let him, better for her to not get her hands dirty fighting riff-raff. They were close, already the towns folk were gathering their children and bolting their doors in anticipation for the violence that was sure to follow. Larry's was one of the busiest places around. When the men were done working they gathered to drink away the stress and pain of a busy hard life, but in the middle of the day there was no one but the elderly to fill its stools. Outside of the bar was a bored looking man, with scars and grime apparent from even this far away. He was leaning against the door with his ax on the ground next to him, eyes alert for trouble, and trouble is what they were bringing. But not just yet. Sliding to a stop, Chike crouched down and pressed up against the hedge a ways up the road. Now was the time to prep and make a plan of action. Opening her bag she sucked in air as a horrible realization sprang into her thoughts. Back in the kingdom, Chike had no shortage of tomes to cast from. Magic seemed to be her strong suit and so when she wanted to practice all she'd need to do was grab one of the many books. But in her haste to leave that caged life behind she'd only packed one book. A single tome that was supposed to be the most powerful of them all according to her teacher, but it also happened to be the one tome that gave her the most trouble. Grima's Truth, a tome that has said to exist for generations, possessed incredible resilience for it felt and looked as if it was still freshly bound. Purple and gold markings along the cover converged on the symbol of Grima, of which was blood red. 'It'll have to do. Maybe its power can finally be unleashed.' Removing the book from her pack, she opened the cover and felt a powerful sensation well up inside her. She spared the man a glance, "You ready for some action?"

"As ready any any enjoy." Saigu replied as he crouched down next to her. True, if they could perhaps thin the numbers by bringing the man over, perhaps that might even the odds a bit. He looked to his improv companion for a few moment, looking thoughtful. "You think you have a chance of pulling him away from his post? He looks fairly bored, and he might be inclined to actually go check something out on his own out of eye sight and maybe even earshot while the others are celebrating inside. Then," He held up a rope. "We can be after catching him and then figuring out how to deal with the other four if we can get a good strike on his head and knocking him out." With that in mind he would wait to listen for her answer, then check his blade out of sight as he drew it from the baldric to rest on his thighs.

She listened to the suggestion with a slight frown, 'He want's me to be the distraction?' Normally people would be insulted, she was trained in violence too and being a distraction wasn't very cool. But before she could voice her displeasure an idea popped into her head, one that was devious and would be enjoyable for her to do. "Alright, you wait here, but be ready." Placing her tome into the folds of her coat, Chike stood and began to walk towards the bandit as if she didn't have a care in the world.
To his credit, and her surprise, he picked up his ax as she approached and offered her a warning, "Might want to be moving along miss, this is no place for a lady." His voice was as gruff as his appearance, and even though he was covered in dirt the smell wasn't unbearable, imagine that.
"Oh I know it isn't, but you see i just couldn't help but come and see what visions of manliness were causing such a panic. Something about a man taking what he wants, rules be damned, really gains my notice." She spoke in a low almost husky voice that seemed to ease the man's worries. She took her finger and poked at his chest, letting out a small squeal at his peck strength, "Won't you come help me with the stove? I'm sure once its lit i could make you a meal you won't soon forget."
He was like butter in her hands, but even with the offer her seemed hesitant to leave his post, which was strange since bandits weren't really known for loyalty. Still, Chike would not be denied, "Don't worry, my house it just up the road, i promise it won't take long~" that was the straw to tip the scales.
"Alright lass, can't very well leave a woman in need, har har har."
And so it was, with bandit in tow, that Chike tempted a man from his duty....hopefully her partner...what was his name......anyway hopefully her partner was waiting to strike.

As the young woman looked to be about venting her displeasure at his offer to make use of her feminine attributes (or more devious side involving rocks) she did seem to come around to the idea and sauntered off. At the very least in her mind he mused as he heard parts of the conversation as the two exchanged words. The man had been alert, that was for certain, and so they needed to make sure that what they had in mind wouldn't pique that curiosity and wariness back up. When the two had begun to approach from his spot, he kept his eyes slightly obliquely away, watching with the preferals of his vision as to not start that itching sensation between someone's shoulders of a watcher. It was about two paces past the hedge that they had been using to hide that Saigu sweeped up and made for the blow with the flat of his blade-moving to attempt the success of a blade strike in trying to knock him out or off balance for Chika to finish off.

Chike's hand slid around her tome in anticipation for the coming attack, and once it happened she didn't miss a beat. With ease she slammed her book into the mans face, smashing his head back in the opposite direction he was falling. The result was a sicking crunch, from his nose or neck she did not now, but he was down and out.
"Alright! Do we have something to tie him up with?" It was a smashing success and she felt good that it all came together well. Now once they had a way to keep him tied and gagged they could focus on the looming problem that was the other bandits.
