HISTORY
Nobody knows where Seri came from the night she appeared, but it was assumed that she was abandoned by her parents on the doorstep of the quaint and generous little town in the sky. Taken in by the kindly people of Skyloft, Seri began her life as a Skyloftian. She was generally treated kindly by the other children, though there were a few bullies who lasted throughout most of her time in skyloft. One in particular, a blonde girl named Kiala, was a perfect candidate for the knights from the beginning. It didn’t take long before she found out about Seri’s aspiration to join them, which she often used against her.
One day, however, Seri had had enough. She picked up a simple training sword that had been left around, and hit Kiala as hard as she could, knocking her unconscious. Her friends quickly ran away, afraid of being hit by Seri as well. She was usually left alone from then on, both by the bullies and her own friends. As a result, she focused heavily on learning to use a sword, hoping to impress the other children. She became quite proficient, impressing some of the Knights, and even being considered for entry to the knight’s school on occasion. Kiala, however, never forgot the event, always planning revenge.
ADOLESCENCE
Once Seri had become an adolescent, her relationships with the other adolescents and children mellowed back down from complete avoidance to a calm but stale neighbour-like relationship. They’d acknowledge each other, but they wouldn’t go and hang out during the day, or play together. They would merely go their own way, never joining her.. Slowly growing tired of the stale and monotonous relationship she had with her peers, she stopped trying to get along with them, actively ignoring them to concentrate further on her studies & swordplay. Soon, she became one of the best sword fighters amongst her peers.
One day, a knight approached her. She had been denied entry to the knight’s school due to some less than polite comments made to a staff member who particularly disliked her. However, this knight was willing to train her in what he had learned, allowing her to keep up with their training. Through this partnership of sorts, she became an even more capable swordfighter, winning several sparring matches against knights.
She soon found that normal swords didn’t seem to feel right for her. However, while searching around where she had been left, she found a large stone that seemed somewhat out of place. She lifted it up, seeing the sheath of a long, curved blade, similar to the scimitars used by the pirates of the lands far below, embedded in the ground below the stone. She drew the sheath from the ground, and brushed off the sheath, before drawing the blade, a beautiful weapon, fit for a great fighter, with a strange - though tough - golden metal used in its design, as well as a smooth red gem in its pommel. She made a few careful swings of the blade, and decided it was perfect for her.
It wasn’t long before people noticed the blade, many asking her where she got it from. However, she refused to tell anyone, causing many rumours to spread. Nevertheless, she kept up training with her mentor, and became quite adept at the use of the particular blade, quickly learning how to use the slight increase in weight at the end to effortlessly increase the force of her strikes. She became well known throughout skyloft for her unusual talent with a blade. However, she was still lacking one important skill - dodging. She would escape some blows, but many still landed on her. She felt no need to work on this particular skill, however.
FALL FROM SKYLOFT
For most skyloftians, the meeting with their loftwing is a day of celebration. For Seri, it was quite the reverse. For on that day, she fell from her home in the sky. Seri had been wandering around the edge, looking down at the clouds far below. However, Kiala happened to be there as well. She saw an opportunity to exact the revenge she had wanted for so many years, and, not stopping for a moment to think, threw her off the edge.
As Seri fell, she saw the approaching clouds, and knew she was soon to die. However, the moment she passed the barrier, a loftwing, deep, slate grey in colour, caught her. However, finding itself below the clouds and suddenly thrown into the disarray that comes with that, it quickly landed, trying to regain its bearings and assess the state of the girl it had caught. It had chosen its master.
AWAKING FAR BELOW
Seri awoke with a start, seeing a strange land around her. Where was she? And then she looked up. When she saw the clouds far above her, she realised what had happened. She had either somehow survived the fall, or that Loftwing she caught a glimpse of before losing consciousness had safely guided her to the ground. Either way, she was far below her own world. And she wasn’t going to let that stop her. She turned her head, seeing her blade land beside her, point facing down. She stood up, took it from the ground, and sheathed it, seeing the loftwing next to her. This land wasn’t going to get the best of her, no matter what happened. She had a loftwing, she had her sword, and she had her training. She vowed to only return to skyloft when she had to, went to the loftwing that had come down with her, and began to learn to fly.
A few weeks later, she had become an adequately able rider, and began learning the lay of the land around her. She spent almost a year in the land of Ylisse, and learned many things of it. However, she had heard much about the land of Hyrule, a place that drew her attention far more than where she was for the time being. She wanted to make her way to the land of Hyrule.
BECOMING A POSTWOMAN
She searched hyrule for a role that suited her habit of wandering the world. She tried her hand at many things - from mercenary work, to hunting, to bodyguard work - but had never found a role she truly enjoyed. And then, she found the post office. She tried her hand at the work, and realised that it was perfect for what she wanted. She quickly got herself hired as a postwoman, and soon, was traveling across various nations and places around the world to deliver letters, packages and parcels. She loved it. Often, she would find herself wondering what to do in her time off. She usually ended up exploring, often coming across hidden caves and mysterious waterfalls. She had a passion for cartography, learning fast how to map out the lands below her as she flew. She had many maps in the packs she kept on her loftwing’s back, of all the lands she had visited. And so she travels, going where the post takes her, always trying to discover more about the world. [/font][/ul]
