On Eternity's End, there are things called Passive Skills. These skills are simply that; skills. Some increase traits of sorts relating to your character, others make you immune to some status effects, while some give you the ability to craft things. Now you are probably wondering why you would take anything other than the skills that grant you immunity to some status effects.
Here's why.
Quite often, there are in character contests that involve things like cooking or knowledge, or intelligence, or other things. Be honest with yourself; if you had three skills that all negated status effects, and then someone with three skills all devoted to cooking came along, and both of you entered a cooking contest, who do you think would win?
The cook, right? That's what the skills that don't grant an immunity or an ability do; they give you an edge in IC contests that give you a better chance of winning nice prizes. Keep (the fifth character is V) that in mind, and really, give yourself abilities based on what you think your character would have, and not simply what helps you fight better.
That said, not all the passive skills that exist are listed here, there are some that may get handed out under certain circumstances~
Your character starts with one passive skill.
