He would not fail. Alexander didn't really know the meaning of failure. He'd always been an exemplary student. Always placing top in class, always doing exceptionally well. Oh his Master was most proud of that part, that much he was definitely sure. When Alexander put his mind to something, he accomplished it. When he wanted something, he got it. And when there was something he wanted, and he was determined, there was nothing in Heaven, Hell, or on Earth, that could stop him from getting it. In essence, one could say that he was actually, heavens forbid, a role model for other children and squires to aspire to. But for now, he was just a fifteen year old kid. A fifteen year old kid that had taken an interest in one of his fellow classmates. The ideas of romance never really bothered him, and in truth, he was pretty sure he never actually went through that "eww girls are gross" phase that most boys went through. He'd always gotten along well with the opposite gender. And with this particular classmate, he'd noticed he wasn't the only one either, though he'd not name names~ But he realized that if he didn't make a move soon, then well, he just might lose her forever. To Alexander Sorel, such a possibility was simply unacceptable. So that was why, strolling the hall, the Junior student made his way towards her door. Really, the plan to him, was simple; take her out for someplace romantic, wait for the right time, and then just ask her out, at least that's what he felt would be the best. He never really knew her to be into the whole super elaborate declarations or anything like that. Oh sure, he was playful, and he could be a bit of a flirt, but he really did it more for show and personal enjoyment than anything. With her though, he'd have to actually try and put effort into it. So without further ado, he took a deep breath, and knocked. tags: Cassandra Amellnotes: *3* hi CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GS

a falling star fell from your heart. Studying was the bane of her existence at the moment. Cassandra knew she would be tested on the history of Skyloft, and she had shirked her book reading in favor of spending time with her new loftwing. She had only been given him a few months ago, but she doubted she would ever tire of spending time with Caedmon. Her time had not been spent with her other friends as of late, though. No doubt Alexander and Seth were wondering what had happened to her at this point. A small giggle of amusement escaped her as she played with the corner of her textbook. There was much about Skyloft that interested her, but she could not help herself from reading the story of Hylia over and over. Perhaps it was simply comforted her like a well-loved bed time story a parent would tell to their child. Of course, she hardly knew what that sensation was like. Cassandra was not the only one who had been given to Skyloft as a newborn, though. How could she miss what she had never had, right? A thoughtful hum escaped her before she finally closed her textbook. She did not see herself getting any studying done today. What should she do with herself? It was not that late in the day, and it gave her an excuse to go around the bazaar. Buying a few new training tunics would be good for her, or she could buy something girly and pretty. When would she ever have the chance to wear such a thing? Cassandra snorted in amusement, but her thoughts dispersed when she heard a knock on her door. She blinked owlishly for a moment before lifting herself from her desk and crossing her bedroom to the door. Her head tilted to the side when she saw it was Alexander on the other side. It did not surprise her all that much, but she did wonder what he wanted. Cassandra did smile brightly, though! It had been awhile since she had spent time with either of her friends, and she stepped aside to let him in without much thought. “I wasn’t expecting to see you today. I was trying to study for my history test, but all the words are blurring together at this point.”

Well, she seemed fairly happy to see him. At least he knew that he wasn't interrupting her at a bad time. Sort of. Really, the fact that he was intruding on study time, something that should be valuable, really didn't seem like that good of an idea. But on the bright side, she also said that she was having trouble trying to keep going and that the words were starting to blur. Smiling a bit, Alexander couldn't help widening it slightly into a grin. "Really." He chuckled, "I'd give up for now. Once the words start doing that, it's no good to push on. Besides, you're a smart girl, I'm sure you'll get it." Plus he wanted her attention. So he would spurn her offer to come into her room, but not in a rude manner, rather, it just worked out for him that much better. "It's a good thing I came, really. I had come to get you outside. Why don't you come with me down to the Bazaar, maybe we could get you a nice treat?" He offered. They could of course, figure out something else, if she didn't exactly feel like heading down to the Bazaar. But truth be told, he did know about a rather nice dress that he had a feeling would look positively smashing on Cassandra. He thought it might make for a nice gift, and buying it wouldn't be an issue, so long as it was still there. "So what do you say? You can always come back and study later." Yeah sure, the history test was important, but if nothing else, he could always just give her the answers or something. He'd been down this road before too. He just needed to know what the actual test was on to begin with. Once he had that, he could probably help her out a bit. Maybe even doodle her a cheat sheet or something. Just because he went through it the hard way didn't mean he didn't exactly have to avoid making it easier for her. tags: Cassandra Amellnotes: he at least knows to buy a pretty dress? a falling star fell from your heart. A small blush settled upon her cheeks at the compliment, but she smiled back widely at her friend. His words rang true, and she was not ashamed to admit that she was smart. No doubt it was a little vain on her part. She giggled to herself before pushing aside all thoughts of studying for today. The material was familiar enough to her, and she did rather well under pressure. Being friends with Alexander meant she had be good with the unexpected. “Nice of you to notice. Not smart enough, since I keep hanging out with you,” she teased lightly. Everyone knew how troublesome he could be, but she knew he liked being that way. Cassandra did tilt her head to the side when he did not come in. Did he have something else in mind? A rather silly question on her part, since he always had something else in mind. Her brow furrowed for a moment as she thought his offer over. The right thing to do would be to decline and study until she could recite the words in her sleep. “Sounds like a plan! Just let me grab my bag!” She disappeared behind her door before she grabbed her small shoulder bag and shoves some loose rupees in the front pocket. Cassandra had the feeling she would be buy a few things on impulse, so why not anticipated it beforehand? Her door swung open once more before she stepped out of her dorm room and shut the door behind her. Studying could come later, or she would take Alexander up on his offer for help. Cassandra really did want to take the chance to enjoy the sunshine while it lasted. Brown eyes flickered up to her friend with excitement before she gestured for him to lead the way. “What did you want to get to eat? I could go for some funnel cake myself. I haven’t had that in weeks, and it’s the perfect weather for it!”

She... got ready pretty quickly. Maybe she wanted to get out of her room? Of course, the not so subtle request for funnel cakes wasn't missed, and Alexander simply laughed at her sudden craving. "Whatever you want, how about that?" He teased. He had a feeling she might enjoy the funnel cakes a bit much. He made a note to bring some back with him for later, he thought she might appreciate that. His body moved on its own, and it was almost like he didn't even realize that he was leading them down the hall and out the academy. From there, it was only a simple walk down a few stairs to get to the bazaar. Surrounded and covered by various pieces of cloth, it was a real exotic building, full of wares gathered from all over the globe by residents that had taken trips to the surface. Shopkeepers had been trying to peddle to the two for sure, trying to get them to buy something. But Alexander had something else in mind. Sure, he'd had the idea to buy her something nice, but he also felt that maybe he should let her pick it out, let her get something that she wanted. So that was why when they came to the clothing shop, he stopped right there. He had not forgotten about her desire for funnel cakes, but they could get that on the way out as well. Motioning to the clothing, he turned to look at Cassie. "If there's anything you want in there, I'll buy it for you. Go and get as many as you want." He almost immediately regretted saying that last part. He'd really only planned to get her one thing, and now he felt like he might be suffering a bit for changing his mind. tags: Cassandra Amellnotes: when has he ever let you down <3 CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GS

a falling star fell from your heart. Her eyes brightened visibly at the mention of getting whatever she wanted. Cassandra was not a girl on a mission to eat as much funnel cake as she could stomach! She had to remind herself not to bankrupt her friend, though. Friends did not make one another broke. It would be wrong of her to spend all of his hard-earned rupees on her cravings, but he had offered her whatever she wanted. Sometimes being a girl could be so conflicting with everything she wanted to buy for herself. It made her feel horribly selfish, but she was the kind of girl that liked pretty thing. “Careful about what you offer. You’ll be broke if that happens,” she teased back with a slightly serious expression. Either way, she followed after him happily as he lead them from the academy and to the bazaar. It was one of her favorite places to visit when she did not have too much school work. Cassandra loved looking over the wares of the various vendors, or spending time with Alexander and Seth. Of course, it was better if she did so with only one of them at a time. The two of them together could get rather nasty in trying to get her attention. Being the referee got old very quickly, and she would rather not have to knock their heads together again. Boys really could be silly, but she wished she knew why they disliked one another so much. She shook her head when she realized that they were standing in front of the clothing shop. Cassandra shot her friend an incredulous expression, wondering if he really did want to go broke on this trip. “…you’re serious, aren’t you? Okay, I did warn you, so no complaining about what I get, or trying to make me feel guilty tomorrow when you want to buy something and find all of your rupees gone!” A grin had settled on her lips before she giggled and headed into the store without a backward glance. Cassandra would not really have him spend all of his rupees on her, but she was more than happy to pick out a couple of things for herself. One dress that caught her eyes was a pink garment with gold threading along the hem and neckline and a bangled belt as the accessory.

Yeah he was going to regret this. He was going to totally regret this. Several months (in fact, he was pretty sure he'd have savings stretching back to two years) worth of rupees were about to go up in smoke. He really hoped that if nothing else, her sense in fashion would be impeccable, and that it would all pay off in the end. He also hoped that those same dresses could fit her later on down the road. Last thing he needed is for her to suddenly have a growth spurt as she got older and have all those dresses be too short... actually no, in hindsight he'd probably be fairly okay with that. It'd look nice. So, hiding the face of pain at the realization of the fate of his rupees like a pro, Alex wandered in after her, following her to try and make sure she didn't pick out anything too gaudy. God forbid on top of everything that she had a bad sense of fashion. But it seemed like he was worrying for nothing. The dress she seemed to have picked out was actually rather elegant in its own way. He had a feeling it would only be one of many dresses that she would pick out, but hopefully she wouldn't end up bankrupting him or something. Though he looked at it and looked back at Cassie, it would look nice on her. "Sure, we can get this. Are there any else that you want?" Then again, as long as she didn't go running off for jewelry or something, he might be able to budget like a champ and maybe come out of this with a little money left over for some food. Maybe something cheap, like bread, for a sandwich. But he'd need something to put in the sandwich. Ah well, he was sure that it'd help pay off; he wanted to give her a magical day when he made his move, and to him, this seemed like a surefire way to do it. tags: Cassandra Amellnotes: what, is she gonna make him carry it too? a falling star fell from your heart. Cassie knew she should not be so cruel as to spend all of his hard earned credits. It was still rather amusing to let him sweat it out as she perused the dresses. He should not have offered her the choice to buy as much as she wanted, because it was a hard choice to ignore. It was not as if she needed so many dresses. Where would she wear them? Training in a dress was rather hard to do, and her instructors were always disapproving of her superfluous attire. She was enjoying the pink dress she had picked out, though. The fabric felt soft beneath her fingertips! Her lips were curled into a bright smile as she pondered whether she should try it on or not. Would there be any funnel cakes left if she took too much time, though? “I want every dress in the shop, Alex,” she replied with a perfectly straight expression. The sad thing was that she was telling the truth. Cassie left Alex there with that statement to fret over before she turned and went to look at another one. Her eyes were glittering with mischief, which he could not see with her back turned to him. How could she not play with him just a little? He always teased poor Seth, and there were times when he liked to tease her, too. She would be a horrible friend if she did not make him nervous every once in awhile! Giggling to herself, she looked over a white summer dress with black stitching along the hem and neckline of it. It was rather pretty and the price was fair. Two dresses would be more then enough for today. Cassie did want to leave Alex with enough rupees to buy her lunch after all. She held up the dresses with a bright smile before shoving them into his arms to skip towards the counter. He would be her wallet and pack mule to carry them for the duration of the day. Oh, he should have known what he was in for when he offered to take her shopping. “C’mon, Alex! We don’t want to keep the nice shopkeeper waiting!” Her expression was the epitome of innocence, but anyone that knew her would know better.

"Of course she does..." He mentally whined at her bold declaration to purchase every single dress in the shop. It wasn't that he couldn't do it, not that he could afford it to begin with, but he'd just need to raise the money in order to do so. He had long prepared a contingency plan in case he ever needed a lot of cash very fast. Simply put, he'd just head to the surface a bit and sell Seth into slavery. He was a Skyloft squire and thus in great shape, a lot of slavers would be happy to have someone like him! He figured that the worst case scenario, he had to haggle a bit. Luckily, she seemed to change her mind and only looked to purchase the two dresses. He'd never outright say it, but he was quite relieved at this prospect, and gladly followed Cassandra, clothes in hand, to the shopkeeper, before she could have any chance to change her mind. This did however, mean that he didn't need to sell Seth into slavery, so there was that. He figured if he ever did that Cassandra might be a wee bit upset with him and he didn't want that, so without giving her a chance, he swiftly handed the rupees over to the shopkeeper, finalizing the purchase and giving Cassie the two dresses that she had picked out. Taking a moment to look at the dresses, he looked over to Cassandra. "You should go put one of these on; I'm curious as to how you'd look in one." Then they could go eat, and then, if things went according to plan, he could make his move. He at least wanted the day they got together to be a happy one; plus he figured the better the mood she was in, the more likely she was to actually say yes, rather than shut him down. But of course, that didn't mean he couldn't interject here and there. tags: Cassandra Amellnotes: next you'll expect me to carry your clothes too *stares at* CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GS

a falling star fell from your heart. Cassie bit back her snickers at the obvious relief her friend must have been feeling. Did he really believe she would leave him poor? Of course, it was still a tempting choice to make. Perhaps Seth would take her shopping later on, and she could have him buy her an entirely new wardrobe. She really did like to have both of her male friends spoil her rotten. Sometimes she wondered if that made her a bad friend to have. Her brow furrowed at the thought, but she quickly cast it aside. Neither of them had mentioned such a thing to her before. Why worry about something that may not even be an issue to begin with? Cassie was quite happy with the two dresses Alex had bought for her, and she would make sure to wear them often. She took the dresses after Alex had paid for them and was getting ready to ask for a bag before he stopped her. Her head tilted as she blinked owlishly at her friend. That was not a request she had been asked before, but she was not about to protest. “Sure. Just give me a minute~!” Cassie asked for a dressing room before heading over towards it. Closing the door behind her, she pondered which dress she should wear. The summer dress was nice, but she wore white quite a lot. With that in mind, she divested herself of her current dress before pulling the pink once over her head and settling the bet over her waist lightly. It fit her rather well, and she liked the feel of the soft fabric against her skin. Cassie placed her new dress and old dress into the bag before leaving the dressing room. “Alright, now it’s time for funnel cake?” Cassie would not be dissuaded from her sugary treat at all. Her eyes were wide and bright at the thought before she gave her bag to Alex and lead him from the clothing store with intent. This was such a better way to spend her day rather than studying the hours away. “So, how have your lessons been going? No doubt they’re harder than my own,” she mused lightly. He was two years her elder, so he was much closer to graduating than herself. Cassie really could not wait until she was old enough to become a knight and protect Skyloft herself.

She was enjoying this. He was starting to pick up on that. He was starting to notice that she was enjoying herself far too much for this to just be innocent joy. He was starting to suspect her of some form of trickery! Maybe she was trying to get him to panic, or get him to be broke and bankrupt. He cast those thoughts away, the last thing he needed to do was start suspecting who he figured would be his future girlfriend. That was just bad form. No, he needed to trust her and have faith in her that she was not totally playing him for a fool and a mule. Besides, later on they would have some alone time, so that would be nice. That said, his eyebrow raised when he finally got to see her in one of her new dresses. He'd be lying if he said that he didn't think she looked fantastic in it. It'd make that special moment later on all the more romantic, he figured. But for now, he would acquiesce to her requests; mainly that she really, really wanted funnel cake right now. That worked out just fine for him, cause that meant that he didn't have to spend nearly as much on funnel cake as dresses. Plus unlike dresses, they would only last until they left, so once she got full, then he wouldn't have to worry about going broke for a little bit. "Well, now it's like, diplomacy and military tactics. Cultural stuff. It's more difficult in that you have to memorize all these little things." He shrugged, "Like for example, in Ylisse you lower your hood as a sign of courtesty."Following her to her destination, he looked at the prices real briefly. Yes, this was far more manageable than the dresses. For once he was finally able to relax, and turning to Cassandra, simply smiled a bit. "So how many do you want? Again, you can get as many as you like~" He felt far more secure knowing that she wasn't going to bankrupt him with clothes. Maybe Seth could do that for her later. That is, once she was already Alex's. Then he'd be a bit more comfortable with Seth buying her things. tags: Cassandra Amellnotes: *3* at least i am not your packmule CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GS

a falling star fell from your heart. Perhaps next time she would bleed his entire wallet dry. Cassandra nearly grinned to herself before shaking her head. He had to have something planned, because someone did not offer to buy a girl whatever she wanted without having something else in mind. Now she wanted to know what sort of favor her friend wanted from her. It was not like she could help him study for an upcoming exam or anything. He was two years above her and much more experienced. Well, she was better with a bow than Alex. Was that what he wanted? Some tips on shooting an arrow properly? No, that could not be it. All he had to was ask her for help for that sort of thing. Cassandra was burning with curiosity at what he wanted from her, though! Had he done something to Seth and he was trying to soften her up? That seemed much more likely. “Diplomacy sounds interesting. I like learning about the different cultures of the countries below. Military tactics just sounds boring, though. I think I’ll try to ignore that part of becoming a knight.” Cassandra did not like fighting all that much to begin with, which certainly made it odd that she wanted to become a knight. No, she did not mind defending those that could not defend herself, but she did not want to fight without a good reason for doing so. Her eyes flickered over to the various stalls that already had their baked goods on sale. Yes, this was her favorite place in the bazaar to stroll through. The food faire always left her feeling rather sated and quite happy! “Hm, I’ll take two and you can get your own, because I’m not sharing~!” The funnel cake would be her treat alone. Cassandra went to the stall and ordered three paper plates with the confection covered in extra powdered sugar. Her eyes were lighting up brightly as she handed one plate to Alex and left him to pay for all three before searching for a table for them to sit at. She lead them over and sat down before carefully eating a piece of the funnel cake. The last thing she wanted was to get the powdered sugar all over her new dress! “So, what was the real reason you wanted to treat me like this? I know you’re not doing this without wanting something in return.”

"No, it's boring." He quickly remarked. He was a fighter. Military battles, military tactics, military history. The tales of the War of the Gods, all that sort of things. He took more of a liking to combat and how to defend one's self. Maybe that was just him being a typical guy or something. She might like it sure. She never really seemed to be much of a better, so diplomacy might be more up her ally once it came time to learn that sort of thing. Maybe he could get her to teach him. She'd likely get his attention much better than their instructors would anyway. Still, taking his one funnel cake, he paid the chef and followed Cassandra over to a table. She was really going to eat that stuff until she got sick, wasn't she? Well, at least she'd be able to take a few days off from studying, she really didn't seem to be enjoying her studies too much at the moment. Maybe later on as she went through the tougher courses there'd be something that would click with her. If not, she could always rejoice knowing that she only had a few more years of this stuff. Alexander stopped his thoughts for a moment to take a look down at his funnel cake, taking a fork and pulling out a bite for himself. However, Cassandra's next words caused him to pause. Well, making his move here wouldn't happen. And he couldn't quite say that he had no real reason for dragging her out here. No, he'd just make a game out of it. "You really want to know? Then after this we'll go flying." He smirked. Though the last thing he needed was for them to be interrupted so, "That said, if you really want to know, no Caedmon." He really couldn't afford to have that featherbrain get involved and ruin everything. No, it just had to be the two of them... and Gwaihir, but still, that would be the perfect moment. tags: Cassandra Amellnotes: his intentions are entirely innocent CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GS

a falling star fell from your heart. Cassandra did not think diplomacy was boring at all. Words could start or end a war after all! It was all about how someone said something to a particular person, and being manipulative with words was certainly necessary. Perhaps she would ask for more of an ambassador position once she became a knight. Skyloft certainly needed such individuals when interacting with the countries below them. There was Hyrule, Ylisse, and the islands of the Great Sea to study and know about intimately. She shook her head before she got too far ahead of herself, though. Cassandra knew she tended to over think these situations before she even had to worry about it. All she had to do was make sure she got a good mark on her next exam and train more with her weaponry. She rolled up the sleeves of her dress and laid out the napkin over her lap like a proper lady should. The fork was ignored as she quickly broke apart the pieces with the most powdered sugar and took a bite. Her expression was rather euphoric as the sweet taste lingered on her tongue before she swallowed. Cassandra loved her sweet treats, and it did not take her long before she was finished with one half of her first funnel cake. There was no worry in her about gaining weight from this, because she was thirteen and why would she worry about her figure? If her eating habits bothered anyone, then that was their problem! Her head tilted to the side as she looked at Alexander thoughtfully. He had something planned for this entire outing, and she wanted to know what it was. Cassandra could feel her curiosity as he turned this into a game of cat and mouse almost. “Why can’t I bring Caedmon? Unless you want me alone on Gwaihir,” she mused with a furrow of her brow. For second she believed he was trying to make a move on her with that sort of situation, but she quickly tossed that thought away. Why would Alexander ever make an attempt like that? They had been friends for so long, so he probably wished to play a prank of some sort on someone. Why else would he butter her up with clothing and food? This way she would not tell on him.

She seemed happy at the funnel cakes, preparing to eat and then ignoring the fork. To her, they must have seemed like a brief instance of paradise. That said, he couldn't help but mentally remark on her eating habits. "And that's how you get ants." Alex silently thought to himself as he more or less watched Cassie tear into the funnel cake, it was only a second or so later that he received a feeling of affirmation from Gwaihir. At least he had been able to show some finesse! Though really if he wasn't trying to woo her he'd have probably done the same thing, so he probably couldn't have said anything in the first place. So would they be all alone on Gwaihir's back? Well, the simplest answer would be "Yep, all alone, no Caedmon. I'm pretty sure he doesn't like me. That's why." He really didn't think Caedmon was a fan of him. And he wasn't a fan of that bird anyway. Gwaihir was prettier, only to quickly receive a feeling of affirmation from Gwaihir upon the thought. "Gwaihir can support the both of us, it's no issue." Of course, truth be told he half expected Caedmon to at least follow in the far back, just to make sure nothing was going on. He was sure Gwaihir could outnumber the blue bird. Taking his fork, he took another bite of the funnel cake, chewing it before he opened up to speak. He was much more elegant than Cassandra. Perhaps she would need a refresher on how to act like a dignified knight of Skyloft! "You know Gwaihir, you're not afraid of him are you?" He asked in an almost lightly teasing tone. Well, he figured she wasn't. Maybe there was some long seated fear that she secretly had of his bird. Not to mention that she had no problem flying with him to begin with. tags: Cassandra Amellnotes: he's at least more dignified CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GS
