It was time for them to begin truly hunting down some Chus. Naomi had come better equipped this time for all sorts of Chus; that was why she brought her light tome. That mark on her back enhanced the strength of her light magic and, like all monsters, Chus were weak to the element of light. That was going to make it a lot easier, and she had a feeling she'd need it. The other two should arrive soon, and for now she just checked over the rest of her gear. Light tome, healing staff, plenty of vials for chu jelly, and a spare jelly she brought in case they needed a potion.
Out of the corner of her eye she thought she saw some movement, but it was gone as she turned to look. They might have a lot more to deal with this time than before. [Sorry this took so long to post] [Chu Death Count: Blue-0 ; Red-0 ; Green-0] [Tags: Nightmare Darklight, @amala]

TAKE THE WHEEL Welp, this would work as a nice second job. Now this time he would actually push to have a free potion made. As Nightmare got the notice to meet up at the same spot as last time, he prepared himself more accordingly. Mainly, he had gotten Silversnake sharpened at long last and he was rather happy to have it back to its former glory. He wondered if he could make it better than what it already was. Nevertheless, it was good to have his friend back to the way it was during his time as a knight. This time though, he also brought along an axe he managed to find as well; it'd be a nice way to take the chus down fast.
Approaching the Wizard, he noticed that the Gerudo woman had yet to show up. Hopefully he wouldn't be waiting too long on her. But this time he'd come more prepared; Silversnake at his left hip, and the axe holstered at his right, complete with his healing staff strapped to his back. She wasn't the only one who could use that sort of thing. Unsheathing the two weapons, he inspected them briefly before looking at her armaments; a light tome would be extremely useful, but "I'm pretty sure I'm going to be your star player this time." He replied before pouring what magical power he had into his weapons.
Within seconds, both of them started to glow with light; he had no idea where he had gotten this ability, had it been from his tattoos? Either way, he wouldn't deny this spell's usefulness though. He'd sort of learned that he could take advantage of any element he needed to. For now, that was good enough for him. "Anyway, I imagine it won't take very long to gather the ingredients you need. We'll be moving a lot faster than last time, I'm not exactly just using a dulled sword anymore.

my soul was filled with crystal light. Amala's preparations didn't take long at all - she bought only a red potion from Naomi, which was now secured to her belt, and a bronze dagger, now strapped to her thigh. By all rights she should've been the first to arrive at the rendezvous point. It wasn't like she was busy. But she had been delightfully distracted by her sweet darling baby wyvern, and had spent most of her preparation time playing with him, until she abruptly remembered that she did, in fact, have business to attend to, and Amala and Garrus shot off to the designated meeting area.
She didn't bother asking Garrus to land; when she saw two heads of hair, one purple and one blond, she just had him descend slightly and launched herself off his back when he was close enough to the ground that she wouldn't break her legs by sticking a landing. Not that she ever stuck a landing - she was agile, but not that agile. She rolled with the momentum when she hit the ground, bounced to her feet, and blew a kiss to her wyvern as he banked and flew back in the direction of Castle Town.
"Sorry I'm late," she said as she jogged over to Naomi and Nightmare, a bit breathless. "Got distracted." Both of her companions seemed better equipped than last time - Naomi had a light tome, and Nightmare had an axe. Both it and his sword were glowy and Amala made a tiny noise of envy, mentally reminding herself to get Mordra to teach her how to use magic. Barring the glow, though, Nightmare's sword looked - different. Keener. "You got your sword sharpened!" she exclaimed, tilting her head to get a better look at it. "It looks good, man. This'll go way faster this time." Amala still just had her spear. The dagger was more of a general precaution thing, meant more for if she got stuck in a tight spot and didn't have room to use her spear; she wouldn't have much use for it against Chus. It was a cheap thing, but she was low on funds, and better something cheap than nothing at all. |

So the mercenary had some magic in him. That was a good thing to know, and judging by the results, it probably had something to do with the element of light. At the very least, the results did. Naomi watched as Amala dropped in shortly after and finished their little party of three. They would definitely be clearing through them quicker this time, since now all three would be taking an active role instead of Naomi sticking to support. Of course, they now had two healing staves on them along with Amala's potion that she had picked up, so there was not much fear of them being seriously injured.
"We'll probably be dropping them faster, but we might have more of them to deal with." she commented, seeing the movement again from before and this time catching it. Several chus emerged from the surrounding area; blue, red, and green chus all moved towards the trio in tandem. A sigh escaped her lips as she flipped open the pages of the tome, "Speak of Demise and he shall appear. Nahtana ló aina alca!"
Before they could get close, she raised a hand and a bolt of holy light appeared aimed right for a blue Chu. With a motion of the same hand the bolt flew and pierced its mark, causing it to bubble for a moment before collapsing into a puddle. TAKE THE WHEEL As the Gerudo finally showed herself, it wasn't too long before they were beset upon by a bunch of foes. Chus, lots of chus everywhere. But it wasn't anything that they couldn't handle. For once Nightmare was actually using his magic to help get rid of these things. He still had no idea where it came from, but he most definitely wasn't complaining. Especially when Naomi took out a blue chu chu in one shot. Powerful light magic like that was going to make this a breeze, but he wouldn't be outdone that easily. Rather, he scanned the toughter enemies; namely the blues, and decided that they needed to be done away with right away. Rushing in with his blade and axe, he brought them down in a cross clash across a blue chu, watching it collapse into a puddle of goop. Aw yeah, that was easy enough, though it didn't stop some of the remnants from splashing on his cheek again, though this one was definitely a stronger burn. He figured though as long as it didn't like, dissolve his clothes or something then that would be enough for him. The last thing he needed was someone getting a look at those tattoos before he figured out what they even were. Once he had that, well then it wouldn't really be that much of an issue for him afterwards. However, that wasn't all, bringing the weapons upwards as another Blue Chu Chu approached, easily turning it into a puddle like he had the last one. He liked this axe, he really liked this axe. Not that Silversnake wasn't pulling its own weight. With the light enchantments, either could cause plenty of damage to these chus, and on their own they were no threat. That said, he was curious as to whether they'd be able to handle a horde, should it come. my soul was filled with crystal light. A lot more, Naomi had said, and just like that, ten chus appeared. "No kidding," Amala mumbled, and readied her spear. Naomi's magic obliterated one of the blue chus in one hit, and Nightmare took out another two in the blink of an eye. Goddess-damned magicky types, she thought with a smack of envy, and turned to the collection of reds and greens converging on them. Better to handle the things she could take out quickly, she figured - without light magic on her side, she'd be doing a lot of stabbing before the last blue went down.
A red rushed her, and she swept her spear low and caught it with the staff, knocking it back. "I think I might be the weak link this time," she called out ruefully, flipping the weapon around and stabbing it through the red. The chu dissolved. "Naomi, got any apprentice openings? I wanna learn magic." |

Judging by the results of Night's attacks, he very much did have some form of light magic in him. Probably. It was doing a number on the Chus, so she'd be grateful for now and ask the questions later. Unfortunately, it seemed Amala did not have such magic in her. It made sense though, as the Gerudo were not known for their ability to wield magic. There was the one in their ranks who was famous for her magic, but as a whole? Warriors. Thus this end result was not surprising at all, but she did wonder something.
"Night, can you use your magic to imbue Amala's weapon? It might help speed up the process." she asked, mentally thinking of the jelly in her pack she brought just in case. If he needed a bit more juice, they could whip up something real quick before more chus arrived. It'd take a bit more concentration to do than she'd have while under the ever-looming presence of menacing jelly. Goddesses, even thinking that was odd, "Atnahtana ló aina alca!"
Two bolts of light appeared this time, one aimed at the remaining blue chu and the other at a red chu. Both struck true, with small bursts of red and blue jelly as they lost their sentience and became small puddles. It was afterwards that she heard Amala's request and her response was a shrug.
"I technically have an apprentice, but she's not learning much. It'd probably need to be more modern Hylian though, everything I use personally is in ancient Hylian." TAKE THE WHEEL He broke into laughter at Amala's declaration that she was in fact the weakest link of the party this time. "When are you not, miss muggle?" Okay, so maybe she was better at dealing damage than him last time, but that was only by choice! If he really wanted to, he could've easily caught up to her without issue. He just sort of felt that wasting magic power on some red and green chus was just plain expensive, and he needed to have better money managing. At least with this, he could cover the cost of his magic use and replenish it sometime down the road, which made Amala's next request even odder. Enchant Amala's weaponry. Well, technically he could do that, as in it was usually within his power to do so, but there was just a bit of a catch. "Yeah no, that's not happening." He refused, shaking his head before giving a simple shrug. "No juice." It wasn't that he didn't want to. He definitely did see the merits in helping her out, but it was nothing that he could really do. FOr now, unless he could get his magic back, Amala would be designated to the "killing the lowly chu peasantry" job while he and Amala went on and tackled the bigger, more noble blue chus. But, seeing as Naomi had already taken down the last blue chu chu, that just left him with a red and a few greens. Taking Silversnake, he looked at them for a couple of seconds before swiping at them lazily with his sword. Sure enough they dissolved in one shot. He was so happy to have his sword back in top condition. Add in some light magic and for the weaker chus, he didn't even need to use the axe, which was good. He could tell that bronze axe wasn't as well forged as Silversnake, it'd break if he swung the thing enough. Conserve where he could. my soul was filled with crystal light. "Excuse you," she huffed, sticking her tongue out at the mercenary. "Just because you have magic fingers or whatever-" What she said only fully processed after she said it. She cringed. "You know what, let's not go down that road." The one time she hadn't meant to make a sexual innuendo, and it was terrible. Glorious, but terrible.
Amala waved a dismissive hand. "It's no big thing. I can keep the reds and greens off your backs while you take out the blues." Unless she could take out the blues as quickly as she did the others, she wasn't gonna mess around with that. No point in getting smacked around by an acidic jelly blob if she could avoid it, right? And speaking of which - two greens left. Amala swiped at one of them twice, getting a pile of jelly and an acid burn on her leg as reward, figuring either Nightmare or Naomi could take out the other with their fancy magic powers. Muggle, indeed.
"Ancient Hylian?" she asked after a moment, glancing over at Naomi. "So that's what you've been yelling in this whole time. I was wondering. That's pretty cool, actually. How d'you even learn something like that? It's supposed to be a dead language, no?" |

"Because the old man who taught me hates me." was Naomi's immediate response to Amala's question, turning her gaze from the Gerudo to the last of the chus. Honestly she knew the real reason but that one sounded more fun to say. May be she'd get an amusing reaction out of it. With another repetition of "Nahtana ló aina alca", and another bolt of light, the last of the Chus was slain and she closed the tome for the time being. They'd probably only have a moment to breathe but she figured there wasn't much point in letting random things land in the tome.
"Here, gather up what you can before the next group shows up. Pretty sure they're pissed about our earlier murder spree." she commented and half-ordered, handing vials to the other two as she worked to scoop up what jelly was able to be gathered up. It wasn't like before where they could have the luxury of scooping it up during the battle; this time there was a lot more of them and took their attention to just make sure they didn't get whacked around by a mob of jellies. They'd just have to make due with what was left after the battles were done.
"Oh, Night. I've got a spare jelly with me that's good for conversion if you need more magic." she offhandedly remarked as she worked, tossing it out there as a possibility. I mean, they COULD buff Amala and speed up the process even more. They had the means. Now it was a question of if the will for it was present. TAKE THE WHEEL What, she was digging herself into a hole. Oh sure, she was able to catch it in time, but Nightmare couldn't help but roll his eyes in amusement at the fuck that she'd almost said something she'd regret. But, he could at least give her a suggestion to use something better. He always had a suggestion to do something better. "I find that 'phrasing' works better." He remarked, getting some vials in order to fill them up, concentrating mostly on the blues. Blues were better and more valuable, Amala could focus on getting the garbage chus, much easier for them all to work with.
Though Naomi had an interesting idea, and an interesting method as to how in the hell she knew Ancient Hylian. But the idea of using one of their previous chus in order to buff him up with some more magic, and to buff Amala up with some light magic so she could go around killing chus at the same speed as them. Well, he felt he'd be faster, after all, he had his sword sharpened and he was using an axe compared to Amala's dinky little dagger. He was pretty sure he was a bit better at damage than she was. Though if nothing else, he could at least see the logic about it, he let out a sound that showed he was iffy on the matter.
Reaching back, his gloved hand scratched the back of his neck. "I could but..." He looked at the vials in his hand. "Don't expect any to be left. I'm not wasting my lone bottle on a green potion. Blue or bust thank you." He came here hoping to get blue potions, not greens. He was a physical fighter. He wasn't some namby pamby mage who sat in the back. Though he felt the term Mystic Knight or something might be more applicable. Though Magic Knight worked too.
