SETTING
The setting for Eternity's End is simple; it comprises of two continents; Hyrule, and Ylisse. However, Skyloft and the various islands of the Great Sea, and even Koholint is all confirmed to exist, and can be traveled there for various reasons, even if it's something strangely simple. A SHIP IS REQUIRED TO GO INTO THE GREAT SEA CATEGORY OR LEAVE YOUR HOME ISLAND IF STARTING IN THE GREAT SEA UNLESS YOU ARE A ZORA.
Also, people are children so long as they are 15 or below, adulthood is at 16.
Magic itself has actually sort of dimmed compared to how it used to be. You've got potential mages learning magic from tomes. However, most of the natural magic without a catalyst is with the Hylians, where it's slowly faded into obscurity and an occult fascination with the others. While learning magic is entirely possible, the Hylians are the only ones that have magical capabilities innately.
The technology of the setting really depends on where you go. For the most part, it's Medieval Europe all around the world. Swords and bows and crossbows and such. However, if one looks for it, they can find firearms, such as flintlocks and the arquebus can be found.
As for race relations, the common races are almost always fighting over something, whether diplomatically or by way of military. Hyrule, and the Hylians view themselves as superior and see all the other nations as inferior. The Gerudo dislike mostly the Hylians, but begrudgingly respect the humans and view them as equals. Humanity just doesn't care and wants to advance their kind to even better heights.
Skyloft is highly isolationist and lets an incredibly few amount of people in. Not everyone can go in willy nilly and doing so without Skyloft's consent is a good way to get attacked. This is something that should be avoided, as the Knights of Skyloft and their Loftwings have a worldwide reputation for being the best warriors on the planet. Their entire purpose is to defend the world from ancient evils, and without (the seventh character is e) those around, they've fallen into isolation. Nevertheless, a Knight of Skyloft commands a high amount of respect wherever they go. The Knights of Skyloft however, are not easy to get into, as most knights were either born in Skyloft or were given to the Knights at birth to become a knight. Most knights tend to take on a squire from the academy as a personal apprentice.
The truth is that way back when the world was more High Fantasy, it was ruled by a now fallen empire called Ikana. Eventually due to reasons unknown, a guerilla war with the Garo aided by Skyloft resulted in their fall. After having ruled the world and put so much of itself in the other kingdoms, the nations collapsed along with Ikana, and as a result, the name du Ikana has become an extremely black name, with everyone believing the line to be dead. Should news of the opposite spread, there'd undoubtedly be a witch hunt over it.
Before that, there was constant fighting between Laguz and non-Laguz, and before even that, the gods themselves used to exist. But have since fallen somewhat, as for one reason or another, all seven of them have either disappeared or died. No one knows of Majora's existence unless it is otherwise said that they do in the canon role.
Crime exists, but is not rampant. Though some criminal organizations have been able to sprout up, but that is nothing new in the world when all is said and done. However, this has caused most people to long for the days when there were clear heroes and incredible evils to be fought against, and many, though they do not wish for destruction, do wish for a uniting factor.
