SHAKE ME TO THE CORE MAKE ME STRONGER THAN BEFORE
A girl fell out of the sky. She landed in the desert, miles away from where she'd fallen, and her landing kicked up a plume of sand. Her fall made a deep crater, and not the sticky smear of red sand that physics dictated anything soft and fleshy should become when going from terminal velocity to a terminal halt.
Keeya woke up in a hole. For a while, she simply lay there as she processed this. She was awake. She was awake and presumably alive, after falling out of the sky. "Huh." It was part expression, part just to see if she could actually make sounds.
Amtal!? Keeya reached for their bond, and breathed a sigh of relief when she found it was still there. Her loftwing was alive too. What happened? Where are we? Nothing. Her loftwing was alive, and not talking to her. Amtal, please, I need to know you're alright.
Almost as surprising as being alive was the fact that she felt perfectly fine. She could distinctly remember - and doubted she would ever forget - her arm being broken. Almost ripped off, really. She raised in front of her face, and found healthy brown flesh where there had previously been a jagged bone spike sticking out of her arm. She wasn't even sore. She felt like she'd just woken up from a good night's sleep.
Lastly, Keeya realized that she was warm. Even bundled up by a fire, Keeya had never quite managed to banish the chill that came with living in Skyloft. She'd learned to live with it. Being cold down to her bones had become a part of her life, like eating, or fighting. Nobody else complained about it, so she didn't either.
Having confirmed that she could move, Keeya sat up. Looked around. Sand, mostly. Sand, and stone. She was in the middle of what looked like a square, or a courtyard, in the center of an intricate, faded mosaic. One edge of the square lay against a time-worn ruin. The others bled into tall sand slopes. She'd have to climb to get out of there.
She turned towards the ruin. It was open, and calling her. Literally, she realized. There was something warm and welcoming under her feet. It was calling her. Ascend, or descend?
